Effective field-based high-throughput phenotyping is key for future breeding advances. Providing over 20 hours of in-class training and 15 hours of practical work and case studies, this course offers a practical approach with examples and exercises using real data from phenotyping platforms and field experiments. It introduces the infrastructure needed for field and indoor platform phenomics, details specific experimental designs and corresponding mixed models and spatial and longitudinal modelling, and presents statistical and machine learning techniques for pre-processing of phenomic data. The course also deals with the methodologies for the identification of the genetic basis of new phenotypic traits and describes how phenomic traits are integrated in prediction models for yield. Besides, it is a unique opportunity to meet and work with professionals from all over the world and share hands-on experience with top experts.
